Created in 1978 by Michel Etevenon, the Route du Rhum – Destination Guadeloupe has become one of the most iconic solo transatlantic races. For more than 40 years, sailors from all backgrounds have gathered every four years at the starting line of this remarkable crossing, which links Saint-Malo in Brittany to Pointe-à-Pitre in Guadeloupe over nearly 3,542 nautical miles (about 6,562 kilometers). Renowned for its diversity and unique spirit, the Route du Rhum brings together professional skippers and passionate amateurs for a legendary challenge against the Atlantic Ocean.

Just like navigator Christophe Auguin, innovation and performance are challenges we have embraced for many years. The insole of our boat shoes features a Poron insert, a high-performance shock-absorbing foam designed to protect sensitive areas of the foot. At the heart of each model is the Contact sole, developed by our teams. Designed for superior comfort, it follows the natural shape of the arch to provide exceptional cushioning with every step.

A skipper with many roles, Morgane Ursault Poupon was born in Vannes in 1986, the same year her father, Philippe Poupon, won the Route du Rhum. A true Breton at heart, she grew up in La Trinité-sur-Mer and began sailing the world’s oceans at a very young age alongside her father.

A Committed Skipper

Sensitive to environmental issues, Morgane Ursault Poupon holds a degree in Water Management with a specialization in sustainable development. Observing nature, learning how to protect it, and understanding the world around her are causes that matter deeply to her. On November 6, she will set sail once again aboard the same Class40 that accompanied her during the 2018 Route du Rhum, but this time the boat will proudly carry the colors and name of Médecins du Monde.
